Medal of Merit for Blood Donations

The Medal of Merit for Blood Donations is a national honour of the Principality of Kaharagia, established by Sovereign Decree No. 1/2022. It recognises those who, through repeated voluntary and unpaid blood donations, have rendered exemplary service to the preservation of human life.

This distinction reflects Kaharagia’s commitment to honouring humanitarian service and the selfless act of giving blood for the benefit of others. It may be conferred upon both Kaharagian nationals and foreign citizens.

Classes of the Medal

First Class (MBD1)

100 donations

Second Class (MBD2)

75 donations

Third Class (MBD3)

50 donations

Fourth Class (MBD4)

25 donations

Each donation must be at least 470 millilitres in volume and carried out on a voluntary and unpaid basis.

Eligibility

Open to all, regardless of nationality.
Only donations certified by recognised blood centres, hospitals, or national blood services are valid.
Posthumous awards may be made if the required number of donations was reached during the donor’s lifetime.
The Medal may also be awarded to individuals who, though unable to donate themselves, have made distinguished contributions to the promotion and advancement of voluntary blood donation.
